Steamer Green Bean Salad with Almonds

Ingredients
1 lb (450 g)
green beans, trimmed
1 can (10 oz /284 ml)
mandarin oranges, drained
1 tsp
adobo seasoning, or seasoning of your choice
1 tsp
olive oil
3 tbsp
sliced or slivered almonds
1 tbsp
lemon, or lime juice juice
Sea Salt, to taste, optional

Preparation
  1. Rinse trimmed green beans in cold water, and place in a Rectangular Steamer, season with a pinch of Sea Salt if desired.
  2. Microwave in Steamer with lid, on high for 2–4 minutes or until tender (microwaves may vary).
  3. Immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking and preserve bright green colour. Place in mixing bowl. (You can make ahead to this point.)
  4. Immediately before serving, add mandarins, Adobo Seasoning, olive oil, almonds, and lemon juice to beans; gently toss to coat. Season to taste.
Tips

Make this flavourful side dish in minutes. No added oil or fat! We love how fast our Steamer is to use. No Steamer? No problem! Simply steam on the stovetop with a steaming basket and a pot until tender-crisp.
